Lane Switch strategy guide
Switch lanes, dodge obstacles, collect coins, and survive as the road speeds up.

30-90 sec runs
Lane Switch looks simple because the input is simple. The real depth comes from routing: surviving the next row, deciding when a coin is still safe to take, and cashing in pickups without breaking the only open lane.
What changed in this build
The road now escalates by speed tiers every 13 seconds, climbing from 180 all the way toward 680 scroll speed. Obstacle rows can cover one lane, two lanes, or the outer pair, while coins, one-hit shields, magnets, and near-miss bonuses create a much richer economy than the first basic draft.
How scoring and progress work
- Survival grants steady score over time, but coin routing is where the larger jumps come from. Every coin starts at 10 points, and the multiplier rises by 0.5 for every three clean pickups kept inside the 2.5-second combo window.
- Near misses also pay, which means clean positioning is rewarded twice: you stay alive and you squeeze extra value out of tight rows without needing a direct pickup.
How to push stronger runs
- After each dodge, drift back toward a lane that keeps both sides available. The strongest runs are built on preserving exits, not on committing too early to one edge.
- Shield lets you absorb one bad row, while magnet is best used to harvest nearby coins without leaving your clean line. Both are stronger when you plan around the next pattern, not only the current one.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Switching twice in panic and ending up in the only lane the next obstacle row was already taking away.
- Reading every coin as free value even when the pickup drags you off the route that was keeping the run alive.
Lane Switch FAQ
These answers focus on the new systems that most often change how the run actually feels, not on filler definitions.
How does the coin combo actually scale?
The chain timer lasts 2.5 seconds. Every three collected coins raise the multiplier by 0.5, so spacing your pickups cleanly matters more than grabbing random singles.
What does magnet really change?
For about eight seconds, nearby coins start drifting toward your car. It is a routing tool, not an invincibility tool, so you still need the lane itself to remain safe.
